COMMUNITY PRESS RELEASE

City of Oak Park Opens Warming Center
14300 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park, MI 48237
Saturday, January 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

January 11, 2018, Oak Park Michigan - Weather forecasts for the upcoming days call for a mixture of rain, sleet, and new snow. This will cause roadways and walkways to be slippery. We ask that everyone use caution and stay safe. At this time, we do not anticipate a snow emergency to be issued as snow is not expected to reach four inches. However, the City is monitoring weather and roadway conditions and will update the community in the days to come if circumstances change.

Because weather is anticipated to "feel like" 10 degrees or below on Saturday, the City will open the Oak Park Warming Center on Saturday, January 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide community members with warmth and shelter from inclement weather. The City of Oak Park Warming Center is located in the City's Community Center at 14300 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park.

The Warming Center opens daily when the weather forecast calls for low temperatures or a combination of precipitation, wind chill, or during wind and temperatures that "feel like" temperatures of 10 degrees, or below.

Hours of Operation

The Warming Center will operate during the following hours on the days that fit the above mentioned conditions.
