Absent voter ballots are available for all elections for every registered voter. They provide voters with a convenient method for casting a ballot when they are unable to attend the polls on election day.

The City maintains a listing of permanent absent voters. To have your name added to this listing so you will be mailed an absentee ballot application for every election held in Oak Park, please follow this link:

Absentee Voting Process

Absentee Voting is available to registered voters for all elections and is a convenient way to cast a ballot instead of going to the polls on election day.  Absentee Ballot Applications are available online and feature the option to join the Permanent Absentee Voter List for future elections. Voters currently on the City's Permanent Absentee Voter List will receive applications via mail for every election held in the City.

Completed Applications can be returned by the following methods: 1) Mail it to the Clerk's Office (use City Hall address below); or 2) Drop it off at City Hall, 14000 Oak Park Blvd or place in the City’s drop box located in front of City Hall.

Requests to have an absent voter ballot mailed to you must be received by your clerk no later than 5 p.m. the Friday before the election. You must be a registered voter to receive an absent voter ballot. Requests for absent voter ballots are processed immediately. Absent voter ballots may be issued to you at your home address or any address outside of your city or township of residence. After receiving your absent voter ballot, you have until 8 p.m. on election day to complete the ballot and return it to the Clerk's office. Your ballot will not be counted unless your signature is on the return envelope and matches your signature on file.

If you have questions about the voting process, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (248) 691-7544 or email Deputy City Clerk Lisa Vecchio at
