Appointing Authority
City Council



Composition
The Commission is composed of 9 resident members. In addition, one member of the city council shall be appointed to serve as an ex officio member.



Terms
The Commissioners serve three year terms that expire on August 31.



Meeting Dates and Times
The Commissioners meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Center.

Purpose
To consider and advise the Department of Public Works and the City Council concerning any and all of the following matters: Public information, education outreach, and City-sponsored services relating to recycling, yard waste collection, household hazardous waste collection, and waste reduction. Environmental education, especially school-based programs.
Public information for residents relating to energy savings. Public information for residents relating to household activities that enhance and conserve water quality and water resources. Public education and events relating to tree planting and maintenance for environmental protection. Other topics relating to recycling, waste reduction, and environmental protection brought to the commission by staff or the City Council.
